SALON/Craft is a collaboration between Amsterdam South, Stichting SALON / and the Association of Crafts Made in De Pijp and De Dageraad / Museum Het Schip that started in 2016 and resulted in the first SALON /Craft in November 2017. The aim is to raise awareness of and respond to the urgency to preserve economic diversity and crafts
in the center of Amsterdam.

It is a collaboration between designers, artists, producers, organisations and the public. This now successfully proven formula gives the positioning of the art and design sector a new angle. Not a design fair for colleagues nor a static exhibition in a museum, but a route through the city through effective, temporary, inspiring works, installations and actual insights into the studios and creative processes.

Amsterdam’s famous district, De Pijp, will host presentations of the state of affairs of SALON/Craft in De Dageraad, with daily guided tours along historical heritage and contemporary crafts. This Salon has a longer term from 2019 to at least 2021.

SALON/ aims to demonstrate results of these dynamic cross-disciplinary and sectoral encounters between craftsmen, designers, artists and entrepreneurs in the immediate vicinity of Amsterdam’s most famous market.
